Our Foundation
We believe that all people, of all races, of all backgrounds should receive compassionate end-of-life care. This belief speaks to the core of the Amara Foundation for Indigent Hospice Care.
Our Main Focus
Mission:
The Mission of The Amara Foundation for Indigent Hospice Care, a 501c3, is to help provide indigent families in Hidalgo County with quality hospice care, accommodations & support for end of life transition. Equally, the foundation provides community awareness for hospice & palliative care options. We care about every single patient living with life limiting illness as well as their loved ones. Our purpose is to make sure that they can live each day with love, respect and dignity.
How contributions to the Foundation may be used:
Contributions to the Foundation may be used to help provide a suitable location for patients to receive end-of-life and palliative care options by directly providing a suitable dwelling or items to improve the patient’s own home, e.g. a fan or window a/c unit. In addition, the contributions may be used to provide hospice educational programming within the surrounding community. Part of the mission of hospice and palliative care is also providing comfort to the families of patients. Through education, these families can become better informed about programs and options available to help care for and provide for end-of-life patients and their families through the final phase of life.”

The Amara Foundation for Indigent Hospice Care gratefully accepts contributions, honorariums and memorials.
For your consideration the following items may be included as an honorarium or a memorial:
